How Rewards Work

The Rewards system is one of the most important features on KiX. It's the engine that makes holding and submitting your DATs worthwhile beyond simply trading them. Understand it well and you will play KiX better.

The Rewards Pool

Every time anyone buys or sells a DAT on KiX, a commission is charged on the transaction. A share of that commission flows directly into the Rewards Pool for the current Game Group, with the remainder going to the KiX Treasury. The exact split is confirmed at launch.

This means the Rewards Pool grows with every single trade on the platform. The more active the community, the bigger the prizes. There's no cap on how large the trading-commission contribution can grow — it is a direct function of trading activity.

Emissions Matching

On top of trading commissions, KiX operates an emissions matching model to strengthen the Rewards Pool, particularly in the platform's early days:

Trading commissions are matched by the treasury up to a cap of 500 $KIX per Game Group (making a maximum total Rewards Pool of 1,000 $KIX per Game Group). Once the commission volume approaches the cap, the match rate tapers gradually rather than cutting off abruptly. This mechanism is a safety valve for the early days of the platform — it ensures meaningful rewards even before trading volume reaches scale. The exact parameters are confirmed at launch.

Podium Positions

At the end of each Game Day there is a result for the Top 3 game.

Once all match data has been confirmed and finalised, the Rewards Pool for that Game Day is distributed to the top three performing submitted DATs — known as the Podium.

Who is Eligible?

To qualify for Rewards, three conditions must be met simultaneously:

  1. You own the DAT. The DAT must be in your wallet at the time of the cut-off and at the close of match day.

  2. You submitted it via Top 3, Teams, or Duels before the cut-off (see the table above).

  3. You hold the DAT until 23:59:59 UTC on match day. If you sell before the Game Day ends, you lose your rewards eligibility for that entry — regardless of the DAT's performance.

Miss any one of these three conditions and you are not eligible. It's simple, but it rewards people who are engaged and paying attention.

Owning Alone Earns Nothing

A user who buys 100 Mbappé DATs and never enters the Games Hub earns nothing from the Rewards Pool. A user who enters those same DATs through Top 3 or Teams is eligible every Game Group.

Does it Matter When You Bought the DAT?

Not at all. Your DAT does not have to be freshly bought. A DAT purchased weeks, months, or even years earlier is just as eligible as one bought this morning. What matters is that you hold it, you submitted it, and you hold it to close.

This is by design. It rewards long-term holders and frequent traders equally — you earn the right to compete through ownership, not recency.

Full Transparency — Independently Verifiable

The Rewards Pool balance for the current active Game Group is always displayed on the platform. You can see exactly how much is at stake in real time.

More importantly: the Rewards Pool is held in a smart account on Chiliz Chain. This means anyone, anywhere, can verify the balance independently — no trust in KiX is required. You can check it yourself using public blockchain explorers.

Two Ways to Win on KiX

Skilled KiX players understand that the platform offers two distinct earning pathways — and the best players use both:

  • Trading: Buy a DAT when the price is favourable, sell when it rises. The live pricing mechanism means prices respond to demand — spot value before the crowd does. Remember: prices carry market risk, and gains are never guaranteed.

  • Rewards: Submit your best-performing DATs into Top 3 or Teams, as well as the Predictions markets, for a match-level way to earn.

The most successful KiX users think like a football manager and a careful trader at the same time.

Next: Sustainability

Non-Participation Rewards Offset

KiX is built around active participation. The Games Hub, the performance scores, the fixtures calendar — everything on the platform is designed to reward users who engage, research, and compete. The rewards pool exists because traders are buying and selling DATs, generating the commissions that fund it. It follows, therefore, that the rewards should flow most generously to the users who are contributing to that activity.

To reflect this, KiX operates a Non-Participation Rewards Offset. DATs that have been held without any platform activity for more than 30 days will gradually receive a slightly reduced share of rewards over time. The reduction is gentle by design — it takes approximately 12 months of complete inactivity to reach the minimum threshold of 10%. At that point, the offset stops — your rewards share never falls to zero.

The offset is not a fine. It is a rebalancing mechanism that ensures the rewards pool flows more generously towards the users who are actively contributing to the ecosystem through trading, game participation, and community engagement.

Who is never affected: Active traders are fully protected. If you have been buying, selling, or swapping DATs — and therefore paying trading commissions — those commissions automatically offset any reduction. A user who trades regularly will never see their rewards affected, regardless of how long they have held any individual DAT.

FreeDATs: Users who hold FreeDATs are exempt from the Non-Participation Rewards Offset entirely. FreeDATs are KiX's invitation to new users to experience the platform without financial commitment, and we want that experience to be as positive and rewarding as possible. FreeDAT holders participate in rewards on equal terms with Standard DAT holders, subject only to the quantity weighting described in the DATs section.

The simplest summary: Trade, play, engage — and the offset never applies. Hold indefinitely without any activity — and your rewards share will gradually adjust over approximately 12 months to a minimum of 10%. Either way, you always receive something.
