# The KiX Constitution

## What is the KiX Constitution?

The KiX Constitution is the foundational governing document of the entire KiX DAO. It sits above all other rules, policies, and proposals. Where a specific governance proposal might change a fee or a parameter, the Constitution defines the principles, rights, and limits within which all governance must operate.

## What Does the Constitution Cover?

The KiX Constitution sets out:

* The rights of $KIX holders — what you are entitled to as a token holder and community member
* The responsibilities of the founding team — what obligations they have to the community, and what limits are placed on their authority
* The scope of DAO governance — what can and cannot be changed by a DAO vote
* The core principles that KiX will always operate by — including the no-new-user-deposit principle, the commitment to transparency, and the commitment to non-custodial user instrument ownership
* The process for constitutional amendments — which requires the highest level of governance approval

## Current Status

The KiX Constitution is currently being finalised by the founding team in consultation with the community. Community input is being gathered through open discussion channels and will be reflected in the published document.

Once published, the Constitution will be linked directly from this page and from the KiX governance portal.
