Why KiX is a DAO

In the modern, digital, fragmented world we live in, ‘sport’ is arguably the only glue remaining that holds physical communities together. Fifa estimates that some 5 billion people engaged with the 2022 Fifa World Cup. That is a lot of passionate people. The impact of winning this competition upon the population of Argentina was extraordinary and transformational.

A passion for football transcends all divisions of gender, race, religion, language and politics. It unites hearts and souls across the globe. However it is also a trillion dollar business that syphons off the hard-earned cash of the fans, from the ‘have-nots’ to the ‘haves’. It epitomises a traditional hierarchical, corporate structure designed to financially exclude the fans upon whom it relies. It’s a world away from our decentralised, egalitarian and democratised blockchain ethos.

KiX is designed as a DAO to harness that passion, to build and create a substantial platform, and is a forum for those fans to share and participate in the value that they jointly create.

As fans you can now literally ‘own your game’! Gone is the scrap for value between customers and shareholders. We are all one! We are all token holders.

Sports betting has its place and always will. However, it is the firm belief of the founding team that there is a smarter way to drive engagement in sports than ‘betting’ with its binary outcomes, poor risk profile, and a tendency towards addictive, loss-chasing behaviour. Once again the fans lose out, to the shareholders of the gambling conglomerates. Our goal is to build a self-governing and determining community of fans that may collaborate across any number of sports, and in ways that we may not have as yet envisioned. A community where the value created, is retained exclusively by the creators, in a manner that avoids the regulated areas of sports betting/wagering.

We have a vision to provide communities, especially in low-value economies, the tools to harness their football knowledge through simple Play&Earn strategies, to generate high-value digital assets.

Thus for a digital world, we’re creating a platform based DAO that has a virtuous circle of both entertainment value, and economic value – all with a low-carbon footprint.
